RIMOWA seeks a Global Industrial Digitalization and OT Expert in Cologne, Germany to lead operational technology strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive OT strategy in coordination with IT to support manufacturing operations across all facilities
- Define, establish, and maintain an OT network ensuring smooth monitoring and management of all production activities
- Integrate OT systems with infrastructure to enable seamless data flow and operational efficiency
- Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect OT systems from potential threats
- Oversee installation, configuration, and maintenance of OT hardware and software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align OT initiatives with overall business objectives
- Coordinate with IT and engineering teams to define and maintain clear governance between IT and OT environments
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to the OT team, including training and development
- Monitor and analyze OT system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to OT and cybersecurity
- Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers
- Drive the digital transformation roadmap for operational functions in alignment with company strategy
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and asset performance through digital solutions
- Lead the evaluation, selection, implementation, and scaling of digital tools and platforms across manufacturing operations
- Ensure digital initiatives deliver measurable business value and sustainable adoption
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in industrial IT or OT management, preferably in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of OT systems including SCADA, PLCs, DCS, and industrial networking
- Strong understanding of industrial processes, manufacturing technologies, and performance drivers
- Proven experience in integrating OT and IT systems
- In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for OT environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional projects and delivering business results
- Fluent German and English language skills; French is advantageous

Minimum 7–10 years of professional experience in industrial IT or OT management, preferably within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated expertise in managing complex OT environments, overseeing system integrations, and leading digital transformation initiatives in industrial settings.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
