RIMOWA — Engineering Intern (Cologne, 6 months). Paid internship (€14/hr) in production engineering supporting industrialisation and process optimisation.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support project management activities with attention to time, cost and quality targets.
- Prepare analyses, decision papers, work instructions and production layout plans.
- Collaborate closely with production, maintenance, quality and other specialist teams to deliver projects.
- Contribute to the industrialisation of new products, product modifications and introduction of new technologies on the shop floor.
- Assist in the procurement process for machines, equipment, tools and production aids.
- Participate in installation, commissioning and ramp‑up of production equipment while ensuring compliance with legal and internal requirements.
- Support process optimisation and standardisation in serial production.
- Help implement Lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S) in production.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled student in engineering, industrial engineering or a closely related degree programme.
- Basic technical understanding of production and assembly processes; strong interest in industrial systems and process optimisation.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to rapidly comprehend complex issues and propose pragmatic solutions.
- Strong communication skills and demonstrable team orientation.
- Fluent written and spoken German and English.
- Hands‑on mentality and practical approach to problem solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Availability for a full‑time, six‑month internship (starting 01.07.2026).

Experience
Entry-level / internship: enrolled engineering student with academic exposure to production or industrial engineering; previous practical experience in manufacturing or project work is advantageous but not required.
Education
Enrolled in a degree programme in Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a comparable field.

Compensation
The base compensation for this position is EUR 14 per hour.
