About Rimowa

Founded in Cologne in 1898, Rimowa stands as a benchmark of modern luxury travel, renowned for its iconic grooved aluminum suitcases and uncompromising German engineering. As an employer, the Maison offers a distinctive environment where heritage craftsmanship, industrial precision, design innovation, and elevated client experience converge. Part of the LVMH Group, Rimowa provides opportunities across product development, manufacturing, retail, digital, marketing, and corporate functions within an international culture shaped by excellence and forward movement. The brand seeks individuals who value quality, creativity, resilience, and meticulous execution, inviting them to contribute to objects designed not merely to accompany journeys, but to define them.

Rimowa seeks an E-Commerce Manager to own its Tmall business end to end, covering commercial planning, store operations and merchandising, performance media, platform partnerships, and TP and cross-functional leadership. The role leads channel growth, customer experience and commercial performance across Tmall and related platforms.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Own overall Tmall performance, including sales and budget planning, KPI setting, forecasting and performance reviews.
  • Define the Tmall strategy, commercial calendar and growth roadmap in line with brand and China e-commerce priorities.
  • Translate data, market and consumer insights into growth actions and management reporting.
  • Lead daily Tmall store operations, including product listings, inventory, store content and onsite experience.
  • Use understanding of Tmall clients and channel strategy to reach the right clients with appropriate approaches, communications and products, including through E-clienteling.
  • Own Tmall merchandising, including assortment, launches, stock allocation and sell-through, in collaboration with Merchandising, Supply Chain and Retail teams.
  • Optimize the store journey, content and service experience to drive conversion while protecting premium brand equity.
  • Own the Tmall traffic and performance media strategy and budget, driving traffic quality, conversion and ROI.
  • Integrate brand campaigns, launches, member activation and platform moments with Marketing and CRM; lead campaign planning and post-campaign optimization.
  • Serve as the key Tmall contact, building trusted relationships with platform category, marketing and commercial teams.
  • Negotiate business terms, campaign participation and traffic resources, supported by business plans.
  • Assess new platform tools, solutions and partnership opportunities for the brand.
  • Manage the TP against clear KPIs, operating routines and quality standards, addressing performance gaps promptly.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional and Global teams to deliver an integrated channel plan.
  • Drive synergy across Tmall, JD, WeChat and the website to strengthen overall e-commerce performance.

Qualifications

  • At least 6 years of marketplace e-commerce experience, including proven end-to-end ownership of a Tmall flagship store or significant Tmall business (mandatory).
  • Hands-on track record in marketplace store operations, merchandising, performance media, campaigns, platform negotiation and TP management, with clear delivery against sales and ROI targets.
  • Experience across multiple marketplaces, such as JD, preferred; exposure to WeChat or other DTC channels is a plus.
  • Luxury, premium or brand-led retail experience preferred.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and proficient in English.

Skills

Commercial acumen and an ownership mindset; ability to manage a channel as a business, not only as a store. Knowledge of the Tmall ecosystem, marketplace traffic logic, performance media, merchandising and CRM. Analytical and financial capability, including turning data and consumer insights into commercial actions. Negotiation, stakeholder-management and partner-management skills. Self-driven, results-oriented and resilient in a fast-paced environment, with strong attention to detail.

Experience

At least 6 years of marketplace e-commerce experience, including end-to-end ownership of a Tmall flagship store or significant Tmall business.
