RIMOWA seeks Brand Protection Manager for Asia Pacific region based in Singapore. Lead IP enforcement and anti-counterfeiting activities across APAC markets.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead brand protection and anti-counterfeiting initiatives across APAC, identifying priority markets, emerging risks, and appropriate enforcement strategies
- Monitor online marketplaces, e-commerce platforms, social media channels, and physical markets for counterfeit products, trademark infringements, and unauthorized distribution
- Coordinate investigations into counterfeit networks, sellers, distributors, and grey market activity across the region
- Assess cases and determine appropriate enforcement actions, including takedowns, cease-and-desist measures, customs actions, administrative enforcement, and legal proceedings
- Manage brand protection cases and investigations from identification through resolution, coordinating with external investigators, legal counsel, customs authorities, and law enforcement agencies
- Gather, review, and maintain evidence and documentation to support enforcement and legal proceedings
- Partner with local counsel on litigation and other legal actions, considering differing legal frameworks across APAC markets
- Support customs records and deliver training to customs and enforcement authorities on identifying and intercepting counterfeit products
- Support the protection and enforcement of trademarks, designs, and intellectual property rights across APAC
- Identify regional brand protection risks and provide recommendations on mitigation and enforcement strategies
- Monitor developments in IP legislation, enforcement practices, e-commerce, and counterfeiting trends across key APAC markets
- Ensure regional activities align with RIMOWA and LVMH global brand protection standards and strategies
- Act as the key regional point of contact for Brand Protection across APAC
- Work closely with RIMOWA's IP team in Cologne and LVMH Brand Protection teams on global-regional alignment
- Partner with Retail, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, E-commerce and other internal functions to strengthen brand protection awareness
- Manage relationships with external counsel, investigators, monitoring providers, and specialist vendors across APAC
- Provide guidance and training to RIMOWA teams on identifying, escalating, and managing brand protection issues
- Prepare regular updates, risk assessments, and reporting for regional and global senior stakeholders
Qualifications
- Degree in Law, Intellectual Property, or related discipline; legal qualification advantageous
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in intellectual property, brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, investigations, or enforcement, ideally in a regional APAC environment
- Strong knowledge of intellectual property and brand protection with practical experience managing enforcement matters
- Experience working across multiple APAC markets with understanding of differing legal, regulatory, and enforcement environments
- Experience working with customs authorities, law enforcement agencies, external investigators, or specialist IP counsel highly desirable
- Strong understanding of online infringement, including e-commerce marketplaces, social media platforms, and digital channels
- Business-fluent written and spoken English; additional Asian language capability advantageous
- Ability to operate independently across geographically diverse regions while collaborating effectively with global and local stakeholders
Skills
Experience
Minimum 10 years of professional experience in intellectual property, brand protection, legal, or enforcement roles, with at least 3–5 years of direct experience in brand protection, anti-counterfeiting, or IP enforcement, preferably within an Asia Pacific context or multinational organization managing regional IP portfolios.
Education
Degree in Law, Intellectual Property, or related discipline; legal qualification (such as bar admission or equivalent) is advantageous but not mandatory.
