Richemont seeks a Level 1 Watchmaker in Fort Worth, USA — entry-level horologist specialising in mechanical and quartz servicing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform basic maintenance, diagnostics and servicing on mechanical and quartz watch movements under senior supervision.
- Assemble and disassemble movement components, clean parts, replace standard components and conduct timing and regulation.
- Operate bench equipment such as timing machines, ultrasonic cleaners and hand tools with meticulous attention to cleanliness and precision.
- Follow technical schematics and service procedures; document service operations and maintain detailed repair records.
- Support senior watchmakers with component finishing, assembly staging and quality-control inspections to uphold maison standards.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in watchmaking/horology from a recognized institution preferred (e.g., WOSTEP, equivalent horology school) or completion of an apprenticeship.
- Excellent manual dexterity, fine-motor control and stereoscopic vision; ability to work under magnification for extended periods.
- Familiarity with watch movement theory, escapement regulation and basic electronic diagnosis for quartz movements.
- Strong attention to detail, patience and adherence to strict cleanliness and anti-magnetic procedures.
- Ability to read technical drawings and follow structured service manuals.
Skills
Experience
Suitable for candidates at the beginning of their professional horology career: recent graduates of watchmaking programs or individuals with up to two years' experience in basic watch servicing or a structured apprenticeship. Proven bench experience with mechanical movements is advantageous.
Education
Certificate or diploma in watchmaking/horology preferred; high-school diploma or equivalent required.
