Richemont seeks an experienced Boutique Watchmaker in Munich to provide technical repair and luxury client service for fine timepieces.
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform technical diagnostics on watches and input all relevant data into SAP in accordance with Richemont service guidelines
- Execute minor repairs including screw tightening, hand repositioning, bracelet changes, and crown and pusher replacement
- Conduct waterproofing renewal, case and bracelet cleaning, and date function adjustments for misaligned timepieces
- Perform battery replacements, watch demagnetization, and precision timing accuracy testing with movement regulation as required
- Provide detailed repair cost estimates and obtain customer approval in their presence
- Support sales personnel with technical explanations and provide care and maintenance recommendations for leather, rubber, and fabric straps
- Articulate repair processes, timelines, pricing, and warranty implications to both staff and clientele
- Document and report recurring or anomalous quality issues to the manufacture
- Participate in external Maison events and conduct masterclasses in collaboration with the brand
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in mechanical watch repair and servicing
- Advanced knowledge of quartz and complex timepiece mechanisms
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and watch testing equipment
- Demonstrated ability to work with precision instruments and fine components
- Customer service excellence with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
Skills
Experience
Substantial background in watchmaking, horological repair, and boutique service environments, with demonstrated proficiency across simple mechanical, complex, and quartz watch mechanisms.
Education
Formal watchmaking or horological training program (e.g., CW21 certification or equivalent apprenticeship); advanced technical education in horology or mechanical engineering is preferred.
