Richemont seeks a Visual Merchandising Planner in Tokyo, Japan to manage luxury boutique displays, training, and brand presentation for watches and jewelry.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular store visits to manage, maintain, and refresh in-store and window displays across assigned boutiques
  • Drive strategic visual merchandising initiatives aligned with brand image and business objectives
  • Implement and adapt visual merchandising guidelines in collaboration with Headquarters and regional teams, developing localized VM guidelines and zoning plans
  • Support boutique setups, renovations, and events including overnight work when required
  • Develop and continuously improve VM guideline documents, training manuals, and training tools for boutique staff
  • Provide regular display training programs through on-the-job training and hands-on coaching to strengthen staff product knowledge and display techniques
  • Organize boutique VM collective training sessions annually or semi-annually
  • Prepare VM materials and provide display support for international and local events
  • Monitor production and project progress with regular updates to management
  • Visit boutiques regularly to strengthen VM mindset and build strong relationships with managers and staff
  • Maintain thorough understanding of assigned boutiques including layout, façade windows, and fixture dimensions
  • Support and manage assigned projects in collaboration with team members
  • Coordinate display tool orders with Headquarters and regional teams based on approved budgets
  • Manage VM tool orders and coordinate with local suppliers when necessary
  • Prepare and distribute installation reports to relevant departments and VM systems
  • Update annual PLV forecasts and maintain budget approvals from management

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of visual merchandising experience in a retail environment for a luxury or designer brand (for Planner level); minimum 5 years for Senior Planner level
  • Native-level Japanese language proficiency
  • Conversational English proficiency or above
  • Strong passion for watches, jewelry, or luxury brands
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of responsibilities
