Van Cleef & Arpels Vice President of Human Resources role in New York, leading HR strategy and retail talent across the Americas.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and programs aligned with Van Cleef & Arpels’ business objectives, particularly its retail boutique growth plans across the Americas.
  • Advise retail leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, talent management, and change management, translating business needs into effective HR solutions.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four HR professionals; oversee day-to-day operations and provide guidance on complex HR issues, professional development, and career growth.
  • Contribute as a key leader and thought partner to the Americas HR Team.
  • Oversee the retail boutique talent lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with retail leadership to identify current and future talent needs and develop strategies to attract, retain, and develop retail professionals.
  • Ensure a consistent candidate and employee experience that reflects Van Cleef & Arpels’ luxury brand image.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues and ensure the fair, consistent application of policies and compliance with relevant labor laws.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention across the retail network.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive work environment that embodies the Maison’s values and culture.
  • Collaborate with the broader HR team on compensation and benefits strategies, ensuring competitive and equitable practices for retail employees.
  • Provide input on salary benchmarking, incentive programs, and benefits offerings relevant to the luxury retail market.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations across operating states.
  • Oversee HR data management, reporting, and analytics to inform decisions and track HR effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.
  • Support organizational development initiatives, including change management, team effectiveness, and leadership development programs for retail management.
  • Champion Van Cleef & Arpels’ culture and ensure it is reflected consistently in HR practices and employee experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a master’s degree or HR certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role managing a team.
  • Extensive experience supporting a multi-unit retail environment, preferably in the luxury sector, with a strong understanding of retail operations and challenges.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement HR strategies that drive business results and support organizational growth.
  • Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across the Americas.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to HR.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
