Richemont seeks a Transport & Customs Manager in Amsterdam to lead customs compliance and international transport operations.

Role & Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end customs and transport operational strategy for assigned markets, ensuring compliant import/export flows and timely movement of high-value goods.
- Manage daily customs declarations, classification (HS codes), valuation and duty calculations in line with EU Union Customs Code and other relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders and customs brokers to optimise routing, transit times, costs and insurance for international consignments.
- Implement and monitor customs compliance programmes (including AEO-related controls), maintain audit-ready documentation and lead customs audits and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with supply chain, warehousing, retail and legal teams to ensure seamless cross-border transfers, temporary admissions, repairs and returns processes.
- Negotiate commercial terms and service level agreements with third-party logistics providers and oversee performance KPIs and cost control.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives: duty optimisation, bonded/temporary storage solutions, process automation and systems integration.
- Provide training and advisory support to internal stakeholders on customs rules, Incoterms, export controls and sanctions compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, international trade, business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in customs and international transport; demonstrable managerial experience preferred.
- Deep knowledge of EU customs legislation (UCC), Incoterms, HS classification and import/export documentation.
- Proven experience negotiating with carriers, freight forwarders and customs authorities.
- Track record of maintaining compliance in audit contexts and implementing customs optimisation initiatives.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills relevant to the Benelux region are advantageous.

At least 5 years of progressive responsibility in international transport and customs operations, ideally including managerial oversight and experience working with high-value or luxury goods within retail, manufacturing or third-party logistics environments.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, business or equivalent professional experience.
