Senior Retail Manager at Cartier (Richemont), Macau. Lead luxury boutique operations, manage teams of 30+, drive retail excellence and client-centric service standards.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the retail team across boutiques within the management area to achieve market-leading retail excellence and performance standards
  • Foster a culture of uncompromising excellence among frontline teams, ensuring engagement, motivation, and alignment with the Maison's vision and values
  • Devote significant time to people development and boutique management mentoring, supporting the evolution of boutique managers into inspirational leaders and brand advocates through coaching and individual development planning
  • Advise the Commercial Director on succession planning, talent identification, strengths assessment, and career development initiatives for boutique managers and their deputies
  • Work closely with ODHR to identify retail manpower needs, make hiring decisions, and develop talent retention strategies
  • Establish high service standards by fostering professional, customized client interactions and embedding client-centric values across all boutiques
  • Provide strategic insights on customer trends, behaviors, and client segmentation to align marketing efforts and commercial planning
  • Define boutique-specific business strategies with deep market knowledge, identifying business opportunities and competitive intelligence
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Director to develop strategic business plans and bridge retail operations with cross-functional departments
  • Partner with Marketing to analyze customer experience metrics and develop qualitative action plans by client segment
  • Work with the Product team to support boutique-specific product selection and commercial offers that reflect business strategy
  • Develop commission and incentive schemes in partnership with ODHR to enhance team motivation and competitive market advantage
  • Maintain accountability for boutique staff productivity and cost management
  • Instill brand image standards across Visual Merchandising, boutique maintenance, and staff grooming protocols
  • Communicate retail needs to the Visual Merchandising team to balance brand image, business performance, and client experience requirements
  • Role model Cartier brand ambassadorship through professional communication, behavior, and grooming
  • Nurture relationships with landlords, PR, media, and local authorities as appropriate
  • Leverage Retail Office support and cross-departmental resources to improve operational workflows and processes
  • Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are regularly updated and consistently implemented at the frontline
  • Partner with Finance to review internal controls, protect company assets, and prevent operational losses

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years leading a team of 30+ people
  • University degree or equivalent higher education qualification
  • Watch, jewelry, fashion, or luxury retail background strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in visual merchandising and brand image standards
  • Proven leadership and management excellence with superior communication and presentation abilities
  • Strong client service orientation and experience building client-centric cultures
  • Operational management and business acumen in luxury retail environments
