Alfred Dunhill seeks a Senior Designer, Tailoring in London to lead the creative development of its iconic menswear tailoring collections.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the concept and seasonal development of the Ready to Wear and Custom made-to-measure tailoring collections in alignment with the Maison's overarching creative strategy
  • Provide comprehensive design research in close partnership with the Creative Director, establishing seasonal colour palettes, mood boards, and visual narratives
  • Take full ownership of the tailoring design process from initial concept through to final sample approval, ensuring the highest standards of craftsmanship, fit, proportion, detail and finish
  • Collaborate directly with the Chief Creative Officer, Design and Fabric teams to establish seasonal visual codes and brand positioning
  • Partner with Merchandising to fuse aesthetic vision with commercial strategy, respecting the collection architecture outlined in seasonal menswear briefs
  • Collaborate with the dedicated Fabric development team and external suppliers to select and develop refined, qualitative fabrics, trims, and components reflecting the Maison's heritage aesthetic
  • Maintain continuous liaison with Merchandising and Product Development throughout the product development cycle to ensure design intent execution
  • Work closely with the garment technical team to ensure precise proportions, sizing, grading specifications, construction details, and optimal fabric suitability
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations of seasonal collections to key stakeholders
  • Contribute to the meticulous curation and presentation of showrooms reflecting the Maison's elevated brand image
  • Support the styling of collections for shows, presentations, and marketing campaigns ensuring consistent visual storytelling
  • Demonstrate responsible management of tailoring sample budgets and role-related expenditure

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a senior designer in luxury menswear tailoring or equivalent designer role
  • Demonstrated expertise in tailoring design with deep understanding of garment construction, proportions and fit
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative vision, technical excellence and ability to deliver collections of exceptional quality
  • Experience collaborating with fabric suppliers and managing material development processes
  • Proficiency in design software and technical sketching
  • Ability to present collections and concepts effectively to senior stakeholders
