Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform accounts receivable reconciliations and process cash applications for retail boutiques and department stores
  • Investigate outstanding items and manage customer refunds
  • Review and reconcile department store commissions, deductions, and sales payments
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities and support internal and external audits
  • Implement group financial rules, guidelines, and operations manuals for boutique locations
  • Support new boutique openings including credit card terminal setup, VAT-free application processing, and staff training
  • Introduce new payment solutions and lead digitalization initiatives to improve operational efficiency
  • Drive process simplification, productivity improvements, and system integration projects
  • Act as the local project lead for global accounting and operational initiatives
  • Respond to financial inquiries from boutiques and stakeholders; provide advisory support to retail operations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting and/or controlling experience
  • Retail accounting experience is highly desirable
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and financial systems (SAP or Oracle experience preferred)
  • Nissho Boki Level 2 or higher certification is a plus
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in both English and Japanese
  • Advanced organizational and time management capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within matrix organizational structures
