Jaeger-LeCoultre seeks a Retail Director to lead luxury watch retail operations across Northeast Asia from Hong Kong. Strategic leadership role managing multi-store boutiques.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the region's retail strategy in alignment with global Maison objectives and local market dynamics, identifying growth opportunities and network optimization initiatives
- Prepare and manage the annual retail budget, ensuring financial targets for sales, profitability, and key performance indicators are met or exceeded
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to inform strategic decisions and maintain competitive advantage
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to develop and implement retail marketing initiatives and client activation programs
- Define sales objectives and P&L components with the Northeast Asia Managing Director and Commercial Director; monitor daily boutique performance and report results
- Conduct monthly P&L analysis and develop corrective action plans to ensure continuous financial improvement
- Implement and optimize commission and incentive schemes to motivate and drive team performance
- Recruit and select staff according to Jaeger-LeCoultre standards, communicating Maison objectives and vision to boutique managers and staff
- Foster a culture of excellence, client-centricity, and continuous improvement within the retail organization
- Coach, retain, and motivate high-performing team members through job satisfaction and career development
- Ensure boutique operations and image align with Maison standards in collaboration with visual merchandising functions
- Standardize boutique service and after-sales service criteria to improve customer experience and satisfaction
- Monitor service levels through Mystery Shopping surveys and Net Promoter Score results; develop and implement improvement action plans
- Coordinate with the CRM team to ensure implementation of customer retention, VIP recruitment, and database collection strategies
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local landlords and department store management to enhance visibility and sales
- Act as the primary liaison between country retail operations and regional/global headquarters
- Build strong relationships with key internal departments and external partners
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field
- Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in luxury retail management
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role within the watch, jewelry, or high-end fashion industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing multi-store operations and achieving significant sales objectives and profitability
- Deep understanding of the luxury consumer, market trends, and competitive landscape
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, forecasting, and P&L responsibility
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (both written and spoken)
- Willingness to travel extensively within Northeast Asia and occasionally internationally
