Senior Financial Controller – Retail Back-Office position at Richemont in Amsterdam. Lead accounting operations across luxury retail stores.
Role & Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage back-office accounting operations for retail store locations, ensuring compliance with corporate financial policies and procedures
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting records for retail operations
- Monitor and control accounting transactions, verify invoices, and ensure accurate financial data entry and processing
- Conduct operational audits and internal controls reviews at retail locations to identify process improvements and compliance gaps
- Coordinate with store managers and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and implement corrective actions
- Maintain comprehensive financial documentation and ensure timely submission of reports to corporate finance
- Support year-end closing processes and budget variance analysis
- Train and mentor back-office accounting staff on procedures, systems, and best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a financial controller, senior accountant, or in a comparable back-office finance role
- Strong proficiency in retail or multi-unit operational accounting
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control frameworks
- Proficiency with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent certification)

Experience
5+ years of progressive experience in financial control, accounting operations, or back-office finance roles, with demonstrated success managing multi-location or complex retail accounting environments. Prior experience in luxury retail, selective distribution, or multi-brand organizations is highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; professional accounting certification (ACCA, CIMA, CA, or equivalent) is required or highly preferred.
