Richemont seeks a 6-month Research & Innovation Intern in Couvet, Switzerland to optimize CNC spindle performance in luxury watchmaking manufacturing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive state-of-the-art review of existing spindle technologies
- Establish observation routines to monitor CNC machine behavior and performance
- Execute spindle tests and perform vibration analysis
- Propose technological solutions and methodologies for process improvement
- Identify and prospect external specialized partners and suppliers
- Synthesize technical results and performance findings into actionable recommendations
- Collect, process, and analyze machining data to optimize spindle operation
Qualifications
- Pursuing or holding an engineering degree at the Master's or equivalent level, specializing in mechanical engineering, machining, or data acquisition and signal processing
- Demonstrated knowledge of material removal processes and cutting mechanics
- Strong interest in experimental methodology combined with rigorous scientific approach
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Collaborative mindset with a genuine desire to learn from experienced teams
Skills
Experience
Academic experience in mechanical engineering, machining processes, or related manufacturing disciplines. Practical experience or internship exposure to machining environments, cutting tools, or production optimization is advantageous but not required.
Education
Engineering student or recent graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; Master's-level specialization in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, or data acquisition preferred.
