Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct bibliographic research on mechanical movement fundamentals and escapement theory
- Understand, optimize, and refine existing numerical models of escapement systems
- Execute numerical simulations incorporating environmental parameters and operational constraints
- Perform sensitivity analyses to identify critical mechanical parameters
- Validate and calibrate numerical models against experimental test data
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports documenting methodology, findings, and conclusions
- Communicate results and insights to quality, performance, and reliability teams across the Manufacture
Qualifications
- Engineering degree candidate (EPF, Grande École, or equivalent) at Master's level in computational science, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or related field
- Specialization in numerical modelling, finite element methods, or computational mechanics
- Expert-level proficiency in Python or MATLAB programming
- Advanced experience with CAE software, particularly ANSYS
- Demonstrated competency in optimization techniques and methodologies
- Strong scientific rigor and technical writing ability
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
Skills
Experience
Master's-level engineering studies with demonstrated coursework or projects in computational modelling, numerical methods, or finite element analysis. Experience with CAE tools and mechanical systems simulation is highly advantageous.
Education
Master's degree or equivalent in computational science, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or a closely related engineering discipline. Enrollment in an accredited engineering programme (EPF, Grande École) at the Master's level is required.
