Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end R&I projects focused on computational modelling and simulation of materials for luxury product applications (metals, alloys, polymers, coatings, composites).
- Define technical objectives, timelines and budgets; coordinate multidisciplinary teams across R&D, product development, prototyping and manufacturing.
- Develop, implement and validate predictive models (e.g., FEA, molecular dynamics, multiscale simulations) and translate results into actionable specifications for production and suppliers.
- Operate and refine simulation workflows, ensure model fidelity through laboratory testing and pilot manufacturing, and manage data provenance and documentation.
- Manage relationships with external research partners, academic laboratories and specialized vendors; oversee IP, data sharing and technical deliverables.
- Communicate technical outcomes to stakeholders at all levels through reports, presentations and design reviews; recommend de-risking strategies for industrialisation.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computational Science or a closely related discipline; PhD preferred.
- Proven track record of managing R&I or technical projects from concept to industrial validation within a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Solid expertise in computational materials science and validation methodologies, with demonstrable examples of model-to-product translation.
- Strong stakeholder management skills plus experience liaising with design, manufacturing and external research partners.

Several years (typical 3–7+) of hands-on experience in materials modelling, simulation and experimental validation within industrial R&D, ideally in precision manufacturing or watchmaking-related sectors; demonstrable experience leading cross-functional projects and managing external research collaborations.
Education
Master’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computational Science or equivalent; PhD advantageous.
