Richemont seeks a firmware and embedded systems project manager for R&I leadership role in Buttes, Switzerland. Lead innovation in ultra-low-power electronics.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead strategic R&I project scoping, planning, and execution from exploratory research phases through technology transfer using Agile and Prince2 methodologies
- Define and manage project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and risk profiles whilst maintaining stakeholder alignment across technical teams and manufacturing partners
- Design and deploy robust, scalable embedded software architectures capable of supporting advanced product development initiatives
- Develop proofs of concept and prototypes with integrated system thinking (hardware, software, mechanical components)
- Implement and validate high-performance firmware in C, C++, and Python, with particular expertise in STM32 microcontrollers and EFR32 familiarity
- Optimize power consumption at micro-ampere and nano-ampere scales through advanced sleep-mode management, MCU utilization strategies, and peripheral optimization
- Integrate and drive complex sensors via communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, BLE, NFC, and bitbang techniques
- Establish rigorous development practices including GIT version control, embedded debugging, and JTAG profiling
- Conduct active technology monitoring on emerging advances in embedded systems, microelectronics, and energy management
- Provide expert technical support to manufactures and maisons during production transition, ensuring solution quality and robustness
- Collaborate with R&I leadership to identify innovative technology concepts and development pathways aligned with group strategy
Qualifications
- Advanced degree in electronics engineering, embedded systems, microtechnology, or equivalent discipline
- Minimum 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in firmware development and complex technical project management with recognized expertise in ultra-low-power applications
- Advanced proficiency in C and Python programming languages
- Proven expertise in embedded software architecture design with capacity to conceive scalable, evolving solutions
- Demonstrated mastery of STM32 microcontroller platforms with familiarity of EFR32 alternatives
- Advanced competency in energy optimization for ultra-low-power applications (nanoampere to microampere targets)
- Working knowledge of communication interfaces: SPI, I2C, BLE, NFC, and bitbang protocols
- Hands-on experience with sensor integration and validation
- Proficiency with GIT version control systems
- Practical experience with embedded debugging and JTAG-based diagnostics

Experience
3–5 years in firmware development and complex technical project management with recognized expertise in ultra-low-power embedded systems. Proven track record orchestrating multi-disciplinary technical teams, managing innovation-stage projects through production transition, and deploying embedded solutions in resource-constrained environments.
Education
Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in electronics engineering, embedded systems engineering, microtechnology, systems engineering, or a closely related discipline.
