Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and optimise the master production schedule to meet customer delivery commitments and internal targets.
- Convert sales forecasts and orders into detailed production plans and work orders, balancing capacity and priority across ateliers.
- Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, quality and workshop teams to ensure material availability and resolve bottlenecks.
- Monitor shop-floor progress, track lead times and update schedules in real time to reflect disruptions or opportunities.
- Analyse production KPIs, produce regular reports and propose corrective actions to improve throughput, on-time delivery and resource utilisation.
- Manage change control for production orders, communicate schedule changes to stakeholders and maintain traceability of decisions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (lean methods, process standardisation) to increase planning accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven proficiency in production planning and scheduling methodologies; ability to translate forecasts into executable plans.
- Strong analytical skills with experience producing and interpreting KPI and capacity reports.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-precision manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (pivot tables, macros preferred).
- Practical understanding of workshop operations and quality constraints typical of watchmaking or precision manufacturing.
- Professional communication skills; capacity to coordinate across cross-functional teams and escalate issues appropriately.

Experience
Typically 3+ years of hands-on experience in production planning, scheduling or expediting within precision manufacturing, watchmaking, or a comparable high-mix, low-volume production environment.
Education
Technical diploma or degree in supply chain, logistics, industrial engineering or an equivalent vocational qualification; completion of a watchmaking apprenticeship or industry-specific training is an advantage.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Neuchâtel, Switzerland, with easy access to Neuchâtel.
