Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest continuously operating watchmaking manufacture, seeks a Production Line Manager to oversee industrial processes (blanking, finishing, assembly) within the Manufacturing department. This role involves rigorous daily management of scheduling, resource allocation, corrective actions, and adherence to quality, quantity, cost, timeline, and safety standards. The incumbent will lead a multidisciplinary team of 20–35 personnel, oversee both industrialization of new products and ongoing serial production, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with Quality, Methods, and Technical Reference departments.
Role & Responsibilities
- Implement production schedules while ensuring adherence to quality, quantity, cost, timeline, and safety criteria
- Supervise scheduling and supply chain management for the assigned line
- Coordinate workflow distribution and ensure balanced line operations
- Track and report production metrics and key performance indicators
- Manage production data entry and status updates in the ERP system
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities and equipment availability
- Detect and escalate technical issues and collaborate with Quality, Methods, and Technical Reference teams to resolve them
- Lead daily team activities including performance reviews and continuous improvement sessions
- Plan and organize workflow, motivate team members, and drive results achievement
- Manage staffing including absences, leave, coverage planning, recruitment needs, and shift rotations
- Conduct performance and competency evaluations for team members
- Support professional development and training needs identification for the team
- Define and deploy cross-training plans to ensure business continuity
- Oversee recruitment of new personnel in collaboration with Human Resources
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and internal regulations
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or production management diploma
- Proven expertise in industrial production management, ideally in multi-site environments with tight deadlines
- Experience in a sector requiring high quality standards and operational excellence
