Richemont is hiring a Product & Trade Compliance EUDR Specialist in Hamburg to implement EUDR due diligence and ensure trade/product regulatory compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Own the operational implementation of the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) across assigned product categories, ensuring company-wide conformity with due diligence and documentation requirements.
- Design, maintain and continuously improve trade and product compliance processes, controls and workflows to mitigate regulatory and commercial risk.
- Conduct supplier and supply‑chain due diligence, risk assessments and traceability exercises to verify origin and legality of regulated commodities and components.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders — sourcing, legal, customs, sustainability, quality and commercial teams — to translate regulatory obligations into practical operational actions.
- Prepare and maintain required records, reports and notifications for regulatory authorities and internal audit; support periodic compliance audits and inspections.
- Deliver training, guidance and compliance communications to business units and local teams to embed EUDR requirements into purchasing and onboarding practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments, interpret technical guidance, and recommend policy updates or mitigation measures to senior compliance and business leaders.
Qualifications
- Professional experience in trade, product compliance or regulatory affairs with demonstrable exposure to EU regulatory frameworks (preferably EUDR or related environmental due diligence regimes).
- Proven track record conducting supplier due diligence, origin verification and supply‑chain traceability exercises.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering across sourcing, legal, customs and sustainability functions.
- Ability to interpret complex regulation and translate requirements into operational process and control improvements.
- Fluent business proficiency in English; German language capability preferred when operating from Hamburg (language requirement not specified in source).
Skills
Experience
Typically 3–6 years of progressive experience in trade compliance, product regulatory affairs, sustainability-related due diligence or a closely related function. Prior exposure to EU regulatory regimes and practical supply-chain verification is highly desirable.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in law, international trade, environmental policy, supply‑chain management or a related discipline; advanced degree or relevant professional certification preferred.
Workplace
The role is situated in Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany.
