Role & Responsibilities
- Execute hand and machine polishing of precious metal components and finished pieces to maison-level surface and aesthetic standards.
- Select and apply appropriate abrasives, compounds and polishing media for metals and alloys.
- Perform fine finishing tasks including edge softening, mirror-polishing, satin finishes and touch-ups on delicate components.
- Carry out visual and dimensional inspections, identifying defects and ensuring conformity with quality criteria before assembly.
- Maintain polishing tools, wheels and benches; ensure cleanliness and proper storage of consumables and compounds.
- Collaborate with benchmakers, stone-setters and quality teams to meet production schedules and finish specifications.
- Adhere to health, safety and chemical handling procedures specific to polishing compounds and workshop equipment.
Qualifications
- Vocational qualification in jewellery, metalwork or a related craft (CAP/BEP or equivalent) or completion of a recognised apprenticeship.
- Proven manual dexterity and fine motor control with experience in delicate metal finishing.
- Strong visual acuity, attention to surface detail and an aesthetic sense for finishing standards.
- Familiarity with polishing compounds, abrasive grades and the safe use of polishing machinery.
- Commitment to quality, patience for repetitive precision tasks and ability to work within a small atelier team.

Typically 2+ years of hands-on experience in polishing/finishing within jewellery, watchmaking or high-precision metalwork, or equivalent training completed through an apprenticeship.
Education
CAP/BEP or equivalent vocational diploma in jewellery-making, metalwork or a related craft; apprenticeship preferred.
