Richemont is hiring a Pattern Maker in Scandicci, Italy — skilled pattern making and sample development for luxury apparel and leather goods.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate designers' sketches and technical specifications into accurate paper and digital patterns for luxury apparel and leather goods.
- Develop and adjust prototypes (toiles/samples) in the workshop, lead fit sessions and refine patterns to ensure silhouette, fit and construction meet design intent.
- Perform grading across size ranges and produce markers to optimise material usage and cutting efficiency.
- Work closely with design, technical design, sample room and production teams to resolve construction issues and validate manufacturability.
- Maintain and document the pattern archive and technical files, ensuring revisions and version control are rigorously recorded.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in pattern efficiency, fit consistency and material yield.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification in pattern making, pattern cutting, fashion technology or a related vocational apprenticeship.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of garment construction, grading rules and sample development processes.
- Proven ability to interpret complex technical drawings and to translate them into reproducible patterns.
Skills
Experience
Several years of hands-on experience in pattern making within a luxury apparel, leather goods or high-end couture environment; experience producing samples for small-batch or artisanal production is highly desirable.
Education
Diploma or vocational qualification in pattern making, fashion technology, industrial fashion design or equivalent apprenticeship experience.

This position is based in Scandicci, Tuscany, Italy, within easy reach of Florence.
