Operations & Business Development Associate Director at Richemont in Hong Kong SAR. Lead commercial strategy, merchandising, and retail operations for luxury watches and jewelry.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of timely reporting and ad-hoc analysis across the department
- Build and own the optimal commercial product strategy from forecasting to point-of-sale, ensuring product availability and right assortment at every location
- Collect and synthesize market feedback on products, facilitating effective communication with headquarters
- Lead the department to deliver optimized merchandising across the retail network and maintain authority on stock allocation decisions
- Oversee and maintain comprehensive sales forecasts including 5-year plans and rolling forecasts updated regularly
- Prepare and analyze detailed performance estimates including sales projections and variance analysis
- Drive operational excellence within the back office and direct-to-consumer channels
- Enable achievement of commercial objectives through efficient processes from replenishment to invoicing
- Oversee the team in sales administration and pro-actively improve logistics flows and lead times
- Optimize day-to-day retail operational processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness
- Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement solutions across workflows
- Manage customer service oversight, including quality checks and coordination with headquarters
- Prepare and monitor store project P&L, boutique financial meetings, and capital appropriation requests
- Manage CAPEX planning and tracking for new projects and initiatives
- Lead project briefing sessions and oversee contracts management with legal and commercial stakeholders
- Support S&D budget planning and control
Qualifications
- University degree in business, commerce, finance, or related discipline
- 6–8 years of professional working experience, ideally within the luxury sector
- Demonstrated expertise in commercial management, merchandising, business development, or business analytics
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in SAP (particularly SD and BI modules)
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills (spoken) preferred

6–8 years of professional experience, ideally in the luxury industry, with substantive background in commercial management, merchandising, business development, or business analytics. International experience within multinational companies is essential.
