Cartier seeks an Operational Excellence Intern in Le Locle, Switzerland to support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives within its jewelry atelier.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead operational excellence missions within the Swiss Jewelry Division, including scope definition, governance structures, project planning, and stakeholder coordination
- Execute improvement initiatives using the DMAIC methodology (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control)
- Coordinate project advancement with cross-functional stakeholders and provide regular reporting to designated governance bodies
- Facilitate change management communications and ensure effective adoption of process improvements
- Support departments in operational improvement initiatives including 5S, visual management, work standards optimization, and tool enhancement
- Train and mentor operational teams on lean methodologies including Value Stream Mapping (VSM), DMAIC, and Kaizen approaches
- Communicate and highlight field-based improvement actions to build organizational awareness
- Identify and propose new operational excellence initiatives and lean best practices for the manufacturing site
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated knowledge of operational excellence concepts, tools, and methodologies including VSM, DMAIC, Kaizen, and 8D problem-solving
- Strong project management fundamentals including planning, reporting, and workshop facilitation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence stakeholder adoption
- Proactive and autonomous work approach with strong organizational and analytical rigor
- Pragmatic mindset with genuine listening and collaboration skills

Experience
First professional experience in a similar operational excellence or continuous improvement role, ideally acquired within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Education
Engineering degree or equivalent qualification.
