Montblanc seeks Mechanical Movement Engineer in Villeret, Switzerland. Design complex watch movements using PTC Creo and advanced CAD software.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical watch movements using PTC Creo 2D/3D and Tellwatch CAD software
  • Conduct technical feasibility studies and functional analyses of new or evolved movements
  • Define mechanical architectures, kinematics, and dimensional tolerances for all components
  • Establish comprehensive technical documentation including manufacturing plans, bills of materials, and technical specifications
  • Collaborate with the prototyping workshop and project leadership to execute first-piece fabrication and movement assembly
  • Participate in prototype testing and validation phases, analyze results, and propose design improvements
  • Oversee technical implementation during industrialization and serial production launch
  • Research and propose innovative solutions to enhance movement performance, reliability, precision, and assembly efficiency
  • Optimize manufacturing costs without compromising quality standards
  • Work collaboratively with designers, master watchmakers, manufacturing engineers, project managers, and production teams
  • Present technical progress and solutions to internal stakeholders and senior management
  • Participate in project reviews and technical meetings

Qualifications

  • Degree in Microtechnology with horology specialization or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of significant experience in complex mechanical watch movement design and development
  • Deep expertise in watchmaking mechanics and complications
  • Advanced proficiency with PTC Creo and Windchill software
  • Knowledge of watchmaking materials and manufacturing processes including machining, cutting, and surface treatments
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
  • Familiarity with horology industry standards and specifications
  • French language fluency

Experience

Degree in Microtechnology with horology specialization, or equivalent professional qualification recognized within the watchmaking industry.
