Richemont Research & Innovation Intern for laser micro-machining in Couvet, Switzerland. 6-month internship developing precision manufacturing strategies.
Role & Responsibilities
- Optimize parameters of complex opto-mechanical laser micro-machining systems for precision components
- Study light-matter interaction at micrometric scale and develop innovative machining strategies to ensure material integrity and surface finish quality
- Design and execute experimental plans (DoE), conduct test campaigns, analyze results, and communicate findings clearly
- Propose and validate improvements across productivity, geometric quality, and design capability
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or completed Master's-level studies in Microtechnics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent discipline
- Strong aptitude for hands-on experimental work combined with rigorous scientific methodology
- Knowledge of femtosecond optics and/or multi-axis trajectory programming is a significant advantage
- Excellent communication and technical presentation skills
- Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, autonomy, and capacity for collaborative problem-solving
Skills
Experience
Currently pursuing or having completed a Master's-level degree in a relevant engineering or physics discipline; practical experience with precision machining equipment or optics systems is advantageous.
Education
Master's level student or graduate in Microtechnics, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent field.
