Richemont seeks a Materials Analysis Specialist in Glovelier, Switzerland to lead advanced materials testing and development projects in watchmaking and jewelry supply.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead development and innovation projects in materials science and metallurgy
- Conduct advanced materials analysis using SEM (EDX, EBSD) and complementary techniques (XRD, X-ray reflectometry)
- Manage and execute complete analytical mandates from conception through reporting
- Develop, optimize, and improve analysis methodologies and experimental techniques
- Serve as a technical expert and advisor to internal teams and colleagues
- Provide training and mentorship on laboratory techniques and best practices
- Manage laboratory equipment procurement, maintenance, and supplier relationships
- Contribute to laboratory operations, strategic development, and promotion initiatives
- Support cross-functional projects and initiatives with internal departments and laboratories
- Automate and optimize data processing workflows
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized engineering school (EPF, Grande Ecole, etc.)
- Demonstrated expertise in scanning electron microscopy (SEM) including EDX and EBSD analysis
- Proficiency in advanced materials characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray reflectometry
- Strong knowledge of metallurgy and materials behavior
- Experience with data processing and automation tools such as Excel, MATLAB, or Python
- Excellent organizational and project management capabilities
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative

Experience
A minimum of one year of professional experience in metallurgy, materials science, or materials testing is required. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with experimental techniques, materials characterization methodologies, and quality assurance in industrial laboratory settings.
Education
Master's degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized engineering institution (such as EPF, Grande Ecole, or similar institutions).
