Role & Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust and regulate stamping/press machines for production of precision metal components according to technical drawings and tolerances.
  • Mount and align tooling, dies and punches; perform trial runs and fine adjustment to achieve first‑piece conformity.
  • Measure parts using micrometers, calipers and dial indicators; verify dimensions and surface finishes against quality standards.
  • Carry out routine preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime; escalate complex issues to engineering.
  • Document production parameters, machine settings and non‑conformities; collaborate with quality control to implement corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise cycle times, yield and tooling life while maintaining strict part quality.

Qualifications

  • Completed vocational qualification in mechanical engineering, watchmaking, industrial mechanics or equivalent (apprenticeship/CFC or similar).
  • Proven experience setting and regulating press or stamping equipment in a precision manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to fine tolerances and experience with precision measuring instruments.
  • Familiarity with machine maintenance principles, tooling changeover and safe working practices in press operations.
