A. Lange & Söhne seeks CNC Machinist specializing in milling for precision watch component production in Glashütte, Germany. Full-time, two-shift role with comprehensive benefits.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Operate multiple CNC milling centers simultaneously to produce fine mechanical watch components according to technical specifications and quality parameters
  • Perform in-process quality control inspections on manufactured parts using measurement systems and documented control parameters
  • Set up and prepare machines for production runs, selecting and securing appropriate tooling and fixtures
  • Maintain and service machines, fixtures, and equipment; document maintenance activities and repair logs in the system
  • Independently sharpen and hone cutting tools to maintain optimal performance and precision
  • Execute weekly coolant inspections and maintain comprehensive documentation
  • Remove and clean finished components and fixtures following production protocols
  • Grind and prepare finished parts for subsequent hand-finishing processes
  • Manage secondary production tasks including coolant changes and auxiliary material handling
  • Coordinate with programmers and process engineers on production optimization and troubleshooting
  • Record operation times, tool consumption, and material usage data
  • Ensure strict compliance with workplace safety, fire prevention, and occupational health regulations

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed vocational training in a metal trade or equivalent
  • Demonstrable knowledge and practical expertise in CNC milling
  • Strong quality consciousness and attention to precision detail
  • Ability to work reliably and independently with high responsibility
  • Competence in handling fine mechanical micro-components without damage
  • Proficiency in German at business conversational level
  • Willingness to work a two-shift rotation system

Experience

Education

Completed apprenticeship in a metal trade (Fachausbildung im Metallberuf) or equivalent vocational qualification in manufacturing, machining, or mechanical engineering.
