Richemont in Buttes, Switzerland seeks a Machine Learning Engineer Intern (R&I) to prototype ML solutions and support research initiatives.
Role & Responsibilities
- Design, prototype and evaluate machine learning models to address R&I use cases across product, client experience or operations.
- Preprocess and curate datasets; perform feature engineering and exploratory data analysis to inform model design.
- Implement experiments using industry-standard frameworks, iterating on architectures and hyperparameters to optimise performance.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (data engineers, product owners, designers) to translate research outputs into deployable prototypes.
- Document methods, produce reproducible code and present findings to stakeholders in written reports and oral presentations.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Master's or engineering degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related discipline.
- Solid grounding in core machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation metrics, regularisation).
- Proven ability to translate theoretical concepts into working code via academic projects or previous internships.
- Strong programming proficiency and familiarity with software development best practices (version control, testing, reproducibility).
- Excellent analytical reasoning and communication skills, with the ability to present technical results to non-specialist stakeholders.

Experience
Previous internship experience or substantial academic project work in machine learning or data science is required. Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with end-to-end experiments, from data preparation to model evaluation and reporting.
Education
Enrolled in a Master's or engineering programme in Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent.
