Richemont seeks Employment Law Counsel for New York to manage employment matters across the Americas Region; $175,000–$195,000 annually.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage sensitive employment law matters, including guidance on recruiting, hiring, employee relations, performance management, wage and hour compliance, compensation, benefits, workplace health and safety, privacy, leaves, accommodations, and terminations
  • Proactively partner with business teams to identify and mitigate employment-related legal risks and provide commercially-focused legal advice
  • Liaise with HR on employee complaints and investigations
  • Provide legal guidance and case management for litigations, agency complaints, and regulatory audits (EEOC, DFEH, DOL) in partnership with external counsel
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements including independent contractor agreements, severance packages, and restrictive covenants
  • Support HR in developing, implementing, and managing employment policies, processes, and training programs
  • Monitor changes to federal, state, and local employment laws and provide proactive counsel
  • Manage external counsel relationships
  • Develop and deliver employment law training to employees

Qualifications

  • J.D. from a leading law school with strong academic credentials
  • Active member of at least one state bar in good standing (New York strongly preferred)
  • Minimum 4–6 years of employment law experience gained through combination of law firm and in-house roles
  • Deep experience advising on U.S. employment laws, including California and New York statutes
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaborative skills with interpersonal excellence and project management capabilities
  • Regular in-person availability at New York City corporate office
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

Experience

Minimum 4–6 years of progressive employment law experience, preferably combining law firm and in-house counsel roles. Demonstrated expertise in U.S. employment law across multiple jurisdictions, particularly California and New York. Experience in retail or consumer products industries is preferred. International employment law experience in the Americas region (Canada, Mexico, Brazil) is advantageous but a willingness to develop this expertise is acceptable.

Education

J.D. from a leading recognized law school with strong academic credentials; active bar membership required.

Compensation

The base compensation for this position ranges from USD 175,000 to USD 195,000 per annum.
