Richemont seeks Lease Accounting Manager in Shelton, Connecticut. Lead IFRS 16 lease accounting operations across Americas region. Full-time position.
Role & Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee a comprehensive lease database capturing all lease terms, renewal options, amendments, and critical dates
- Analyze and interpret complex lease contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with IFRS 16
- Ensure accurate lease data entry and management within SAP, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial close reporting
- Coordinate monthly fixed and variable rental payments with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate disbursements
- Collaborate with Real Estate, Legal, and other departments to ensure new leases, modifications, and terminations are accurately documented and accounted for
- Conduct annual common area maintenance (CAM) reconciliation audits and monthly percent rent calculations in adherence to lease terms
- Serve as primary point of contact for landlords on billing inquiries, reconciliation discrepancies, audit coordination, and lease-related issues
- Prepare and submit accurate monthly and certified annual sales reporting to landlords, with reconciliation of landlord statements against lease agreements
- Partner with FP&A to assess actuals against budget and support cash flow simulations for new projects or lease scenarios
- Prepare lease-related audit schedules and support internal and external audit requests
- Collaborate with Internal Controls team to ensure Swiss SOX lease-related controls are documented, assessed, and operating effectively
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and best practices to enhance efficiency and control within lease accounting operations
- Provide guidance and support to Mexico and Brazil regional functions as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA certification or Master's degree in Accounting preferred
- Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with significant focus on lease accounting
- Comprehensive understanding of IFRS 16 and broader lease accounting principles
- Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply complex lease agreements
- Strong proficiency with SAP or similar large-scale ERP systems
- Experience with lease accounting software
- Demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of lease accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of high-performing finance teams
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving lease accounting issues

Experience
Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with a significant focus on lease accounting. Prior experience with IFRS 16 implementation, lease administration, complex contract interpretation, and cross-functional collaboration within large multinational organizations is essential.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. CPA certification or Master's degree in Accounting is preferred.
