Montblanc seeks a Lean Expert in Hamburg to lead operational excellence and process optimization across manufacturing and production functions.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Analyze, evaluate, and continuously optimize production processes and material flows using Lean principles to reduce lead times and sustainably enhance operational efficiency
  • Design and implement Lean production methodologies including value stream analysis, 5S, SMED, Kanban, and TPM to drive improvements in productivity, quality, throughput, and on-time delivery
  • Establish and embed shopfloor management systems that render critical metrics transparent and strengthen problem-solving capability at the operational level
  • Serve as a cross-departmental problem-solver during process disruptions and bottlenecks, systematically analyzing root causes and developing sustainable solutions in partnership with business units
  • Guide the Lean transformation and evolution of lean culture organization-wide, implementing new working methods, conducting continuous improvement projects, and delivering training and workshops that equip staff for independent Lean application
  • Identify and evaluate best practices, emerging Lean methodologies, and technologies; provide strategic guidance on equipment selection and implementation through a Lean lens
  • Contribute to the development and execution of a sustainable Lean strategy and its enterprise-wide implementation

Qualifications

  • Completed technical degree in engineering, industrial engineering, production engineering, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience applying Lean production principles and methodologies, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Solid proficiency in standard Lean tools and methodologies (value stream analysis, 5S, SMED, Kanban, kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma) with documented success in reducing lead times and improving efficiency
  • Demonstrated experience leading change management initiatives and implementing new working practices
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills; ability to inspire staff engagement with change initiatives and build capability
  • Structured, solution-oriented, and autonomous working approach; readiness to work actively at the shopfloor level
  • Openness to novel methodologies and willingness to pilot and implement new approaches in practice
  • Fluent German and proficient English (written and spoken)
