Cartier seeks Merchandise Planner Manager for Jewelry in New York. Lead strategic planning, inventory optimization, and supply chain excellence. $100K–$120K USD.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive demand and inventory planning strategies, analyzing sales forecasts to optimize inventory policies and minimize surplus while supporting seasonality and replenishment lead times
- Collaborate with Marketing, Merchandising, and International Operations to drive new product launch planning and manage assortments across North American retail and e-commerce channels based on market trends and strategic priorities
- Serve as primary liaison between North American commercial teams and International Operations, managing product allocations, shortage resolution, and stock balancing initiatives for scarce products
- Conduct in-depth analysis of e-commerce inventory and local stock positioning to identify growth opportunities, optimize product visibility, and align inventory with sales trends
- Partner with Logistics teams to optimize product flows, oversee inbound and outbound logistics including returns management, and coordinate warehouse deliveries and stock reductions
- Develop and maintain advanced Power BI and Looker dashboards to track sales trends, inventory levels, shortages, and logistics performance across regions, boutiques, and channels
- Generate critical monthly and weekly reports analyzing regional performance, stock movements, and operational metrics for executive management and stakeholders
- Lead strategic special projects and drive continuous process improvements in collaboration with International, Logistics, IT, Merchandising, and other cross-functional teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field is highly advantageous
- Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in planning, merchandising, or buying within a luxury goods or retail environment
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools for complex data modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated experience with SAP systems and Power BI dashboards
- Strong understanding of the luxury goods sector, with particular knowledge of jewelry, precious stones, and high-end accessories
- Superior interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders across all organizational levels
- Exceptional analytical acumen and strategic problem-solving capabilities
- Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Experience
Minimum 5–10 years of progressive experience in planning, merchandising, buying, or supply chain management, demonstrating a proven track record of strategic impact and leadership within dynamic, fast-paced luxury goods or retail environments.
Education
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related discipline is a significant advantage.
