Richemont in Sydney seeks a skilled Jeweller for atelier bench work, stone setting and repairs. Luxury craftsmanship role based in Sydney, Australia.
Role & Responsibilities
- Execute precision bench work including hand fabrication, soldering and assembly of jewellery pieces to maison quality standards.
- Set and secure gemstones using appropriate techniques for prong, bezel and pavé settings while ensuring gemstone integrity.
- Perform detailed polishing, finishing and surface treatments to achieve luxury-grade finishes and consistent tolerances.
- Diagnose and repair customer jewellery and carry out restorations, replacements and resizing with meticulous documentation.
- Carry out final quality control inspections, verify dimensions and tolerances against technical drawings, and ensure compliance with internal quality standards.
- Collaborate with design, CAD and production teams to translate technical sketches and prototypes into finished pieces and provide technical feedback to support manufacturability.
Qualifications
- Certificate or trade qualification in jewellery manufacture, silversmithing, metalwork or equivalent formal training.
- Minimum three years' bench experience in a high-end or bespoke jewellery atelier or luxury manufacture.
- Demonstrable competency in stone setting, soldering, hand fabrication and finishing of precious metals.
- Strong visual acuity, manual dexterity and a rigorous attention to detail.
- GIA or equivalent gemmology training preferred; formal stone-setting certification advantageous.
Skills
Experience
Minimum three years' professional experience as a bench jeweller or goldsmith within a luxury jewellery atelier, high-end retail repair department or bespoke manufacturing environment, with proven ability to produce and finish pieces to maison standards.
Education
Trade qualification or Certificate in jewellery manufacturing, metalwork or silversmithing; GIA or equivalent gemmology coursework preferred.
