Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and maintain internal control frameworks and audit programs covering retail, warehouse and distribution stock.
  • Plan and execute periodic and ad‑hoc inventory audits and cycle counts; validate stock reconciliations and investigate variances.
  • Lead internal audit assignments related to inventory, stock movements and related financial controls; produce clear findings and remediation plans.
  • Coordinate with store managers, logistics teams and finance to ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards and management reporting to track inventory accuracy, shrinkage and control effectiveness.
  • Drive process improvements and control enhancements to reduce risk and improve the integrity of stock-related financial reporting.
  • Coach and supervise cross‑functional stakeholders involved in inventory processes; support awareness and training on control procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; master's degree or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIA) preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, reconciliation techniques and internal audit methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead audit engagements and manage cross‑functional stakeholders in a retail environment.
