Richemont — Hamburg: Industrial Engineer needed to optimise manufacturing processes and lead continuous improvement in precision production.
Role & Responsibilities
- Analyse, design and optimise production processes and shop-floor layouts to improve throughput, quality and ergonomics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing methodologies to reduce waste, cycle time and cost-to-serve.
- Define and deploy process control plans, standard operating procedures and key performance indicators (OEE, scrap rates, takt time).
- Plan and manage industrialisation and capital projects, including equipment specification, supplier coordination and FAT/SAT activities.
- Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance and supply-chain teams to resolve technical bottlenecks and ensure stable serial production.
- Develop work instructions, tooling requirements and poka-yoke solutions for small-batch, high-precision assembly environments.
- Provide technical training and coaching to operators and supervisors on new processes, tools and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven track record (typically 3–5 years) in a manufacturing environment; experience with precision assembly or watchmaking components is highly desirable.
- Practical experience implementing lean manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma methodologies; Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage.
- Demonstrable project management experience delivering industrialisation or automation projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical aptitude with experience using statistical tools to diagnose process variation and implement corrective actions.
Skills
Experience
Mid-level manufacturing experience, typically 3–5 years working in process improvement, production engineering or industrialisation within precision manufacturing, electronics, medical devices or watch/luxury component production. Prior exposure to small-series, high-value assembly processes is preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering or related technical discipline.
