Richemont in Plan‑les‑Ouates seeks a Heritage Project Manager (maternity cover) to oversee archives, conservation and digitisation projects.
Role & Responsibilities
- Act as interim lead for heritage and archives projects, ensuring continuity of current programmes during the maternity cover period.
- Plan, manage and deliver projects related to cataloguing, conservation, digitisation and interpretation of archival and collections material within agreed scope, budget and timelines.
- Coordinate cross‑functional stakeholders (curators, designers, legal, marketing, external conservators and vendors) to align project objectives and deliverables.
- Define and enforce archival standards, metadata schemas and documentation practices to support discoverability and long‑term preservation.
- Oversee vendor selection and contract management for conservation, digitisation and storage services; manage procurement and quality control.
- Prepare project reports, risk assessments and progress presentations for senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
- Support exhibition, loan and publication requests by providing object histories, condition reports and provenance research.
- Contribute to development and implementation of conservation policies, disaster‑recovery procedures and access protocols.
Qualifications
- Degree in Art History, Museum Studies, Archival Science, Conservation or a closely related discipline.
- Proven project management capability; formal project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of archival standards and metadata practices (e.g., ISAD(G), Dublin Core) and collection care principles.
- Demonstrable experience coordinating external conservators, digitisation vendors and multidisciplinary internal teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with experience producing stakeholder reports and presentations.
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules and procurement for specialist services.
Skills
Experience
Minimum five years' professional experience in heritage, archives, museum or collections roles, with at least several years managing projects or programmes. Experience within a luxury brand, cultural institution or comparable environment preferred.
Education
University degree in Art History, Conservation, Museum Studies, Archival Science or a related field; project management certification preferred.
Workplace
The successful candidate will be located in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland, with easy access to Geneva.
