Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and execute month‑end close activities, including preparation and posting of journal entries and accruals.
- Prepare, review and reconcile general ledger accounts and balance sheet schedules on a recurring basis.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules and reconciliations.
- Perform intercompany reconciliations and support intercompany clearing and settlement processes.
- Produce supporting schedules and analyses for statutory, management and tax reporting.
- Support external audits and internal control testing; respond to auditor queries and maintain audit files.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS/local GAAP) and group accounting policies.
- Identify process improvements, streamline accounting workflows and contribute to ERP/accounting system initiatives.
- Liaise with regional finance teams, operations and business stakeholders to resolve ledger variances and queries.
- Provide ad hoc financial analyses and assist with month‑to‑month financial reporting tasks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent qualification.
- Professional accounting qualification preferred (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of general ledger processes, month‑end close and reconciliations.
- Practical understanding of IFRS and local GAAP requirements relevant to the jurisdiction.
- Demonstrable integrity and adherence to internal controls and SOX‑style processes where applicable.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3–5 years of progressive general ledger or financial accounting experience; prior exposure to luxury retail, wholesale or professional services finance teams is advantageous.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related discipline; professional accounting certification (ACCA/CPA/CIMA) preferred.
