Richemont is hiring a Financial Accountant in Johannesburg — responsible for month‑end close, financial reporting and IFRS compliance.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post month-end journal entries and ensure timely completion of the month-end close process in accordance with group timelines.
- Compile statutory and management financial statements, variance analysis and commentary for local management and Group consolidation.
- Maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations and manage intercompany reconciliations and settlements.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules and periodic reviews of asset registers.
- Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, responding to audit queries and implementing control enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, local tax and VAT reporting requirements; prepare supporting documentation for tax and statutory filings.
- Collaborate with commercial, inventory and treasury teams to reconcile transactional flows and resolve balance-sheet discrepancies.
- Contribute to process improvement, automation initiatives and the implementation of Group accounting policies and controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification preferred (CA(SA), ACCA or equivalent) or working towards certification.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local statutory reporting requirements.
Skills
Experience
Typically 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience within a corporate finance environment; experience in luxury retail, wholesale or consumer goods accounting and exposure to multinational group reporting is highly desirable.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field; professional accounting certification (CA(SA), ACCA or equivalent) preferred.
