Richemont seeks a Financial Accountant in Johannesburg, South Africa to manage general ledger, lease accounting, and audit support for luxury maisons.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyse, and interpret financial information in collaboration with Maisons and Functions to provide decision-making insights
  • Analyze general ledger accounts, calculate accruals in compliance with IFRS and Richemont policies, and ensure timely booking of entries
  • Update, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts according to the Balance Sheet Schedule, investigating variances and outstanding items
  • Prepare and post entries for prepayments and accruals in coordination with Maisons and the Financial Planning and Analysis team
  • Support sales interface reconciliation and adjustments, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Richemont's financial policies
  • Review, check, and support daily wholesale and retail sales interfaces in SAP, coordinating with relevant teams to resolve issues
  • Maintain detailed records and supporting documentation for all entries in the Finance document storage system
  • Perform vendor statement of accounts reconciliation in conjunction with the Accounts Payable Controller
  • Prepare bank reconciliation schedules, identify and investigate variances
  • Run monthly depreciation and fixed assets reports, including the CAPEX Management Report
  • Maintain and update lease agreements in accordance with IFRS 16 standards and SAP data integrity
  • Perform monthly lease valuation runs and post related adjusting entries
  • Maintain vendor workflow data and administer Concur travel and expense management
  • Support internal and external audits and implement recommended improvements
  • Undertake regular internal control testing with appropriate supporting documentation
  • Manage reconciliation, payment, and other activities related to Inter-Company accounts
  • Oversee advertising and promotion accounting
  • Execute ad hoc activities as required within the scope of the general ledger function

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce or Finance degree with Honours
  • Accounting certification and professional qualification (advantage)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience in finance and accounting
  • At least 2 years' experience in general ledger accounting
  • Audit experience (advantage)
  • Strong accounting background
  • Proficiency with SAP ERP systems
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Knowledge of South African VAT regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities in diverse, complex environments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines
  • High-level personal integrity and ability to manage confidential information

Experience
