Role & Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing finance team encompassing accounting, retail back-office, and controlling functions
• Prepare, analyze, and submit comprehensive brand, regional, and company budgets and latest estimates
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, identify variances, control costs, and implement corrective actions
• Actively participate in the Executive Committee, contributing to strategic priorities and policy development
• Serve as strategic business partner to the Managing Director, providing insightful financial analysis and recommendations
• Oversee all accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, fixed assets, and master data integrity
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements and management information
• Oversee production of year-end statutory financial statements and mid-year compliance updates
• Manage retail finance flows, payment controls, fraud and anti-money laundering controls, and stock controls
• Lead continuous improvement of anti-fraud controls for e-commerce and boutiques, including Forter enhancements
• Oversee treasury operations, payment workflows, netting, and bank account management
• Ensure compliance with Group procedures, IAS/IFRS standards, local GAAP, and local tax regulations
• Lead internal control system (ICS) compliance tasks, testing, walkthroughs, and reporting
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring clean audit opinions and Board of Statutory Auditors updates
• Oversee tax filings, returns, and audits; manage transfer pricing for affiliated entities
• Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, internal auditors, banks, and Group personnel
• Define and implement process improvements across finance functions
• Oversee accounting and finance systems, including SAP, Concur, and VIM components
• Train company staff on Group Finance policies, procedures, and IAS standards

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
• Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience
• At least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role managing a medium-sized finance team in a multi-country European context
• Proven experience in multinational or matrix environments, preferably within luxury retail
• Expert knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP (Dutch, Belgian, Nordic), and regional tax systems
• Strong understanding of corporate law and governance principles relevant to Benelux and Nordics
• Proficiency in financial management systems (SAP, Concur, VIM) and advanced Excel
• Exceptional analytical, data gathering, synthesis, and presentation skills
• Experience designing and implementing financial procedures and processes
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage complex projects

Skills

Experience

Minimum 15 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5–7 years in a senior leadership role managing a medium-sized finance team within a multi-country European context, preferably including Benelux and/or Nordics. Proven experience in multinational or matrix environments, ideally within luxury retail or comparable sectors. Working experience in multiple countries and international environments is highly valued. Internal or external audit experience is advantageous.

Education

Master's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
