Richemont is hiring a Director, Strategic Sourcing in New York. Lead global procurement strategy, supplier partnerships and category sourcing.
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the end-to-end strategic sourcing roadmap for assigned categories, aligning procurement priorities with brand design, product and commercial objectives.
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional sourcing team, defining KPIs, governance and capability-building programmes to drive performance and supplier excellence.
- Design and run competitive RFx/RFP processes, select and negotiate contracts with global suppliers to secure quality, lead times, intellectual property protection and best-in-class commercial terms.
- Deliver measurable cost savings and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) optimisation while preserving product integrity and brand positioning.
- Manage supplier risk and continuity, including on-site audits, quality escalation, corrective action plans and contingency sourcing strategies.
- Embed sustainability, ethical sourcing and compliance requirements across supplier selection and contracting processes.
- Collaborate with design, product development, quality, manufacturing and legal teams to ensure sourcing decisions meet technical, regulatory and creative specifications.
- Own supplier relationship management for strategic partners, including performance reviews, joint improvement plans and innovation partnerships.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience at director or senior manager level in strategic sourcing/procurement within luxury goods, fashion, watches, jewellery or premium consumer goods.
- Demonstrable track record of delivering multi-million-dollar savings, supplier consolidation and TCO improvements across global supply bases.
- Deep knowledge of supplier markets relevant to luxury manufacturing (materials, components, artisanal finishing) and associated quality standards.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating complex, multi-year contracts including IP, quality and exclusivity terms.
- Experience integrating sustainability and ethical sourcing criteria into supplier selection and contracting.
Skills
Experience
Typically 10+ years of progressive procurement or strategic sourcing experience with at least several years in a leadership role; demonstrated experience working with global, multi-tier supplier networks in luxury, fashion, watches or premium consumer goods.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related discipline; MBA or advanced procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred.
