Richemont seeks a Diagnostic Watchmaker in Munich to perform movement diagnostics, repair and quality control for prestigious watch maisons.
Role & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics of mechanical and quartz movements, identify faults and define repair scope according to brand technical procedures.
- Disassemble, clean, repair and reassemble movements including chronographs and complications, ensuring compliance with manufacturer tolerances.
- Perform timing, amplitude and positional tests; regulate movements to precise timekeeping standards and document results.
- Execute pressure and water‑resistance tests, case and crown servicing, and final quality control checks prior to client return.
- Prepare clear service reports and repair estimates; liaise with service advisors and parts departments to expedite turnaround.
- Maintain workshop tools, micromechanical instruments and a controlled, clean work environment in line with atelier standards.
- Apply technical bulletins and update knowledge of in‑house calibers and approved repair methods.
Qualifications
- Diploma in watchmaking (WOSTEP, Uhrmachermeister or equivalent vocational qualification) or proven professional apprenticeship.
- Certified experience in after‑sales service or independent workshop repair of luxury mechanical watches.
- Exceptional manual dexterity, precision, and familiarity with hand tools and fine micromechanical procedures.
- Ability to read technical schematics, service manuals and adhere strictly to manufacturer repair protocols.
- Professional conduct in documentation, timekeeping tests and quality assurance processes.

Experience
Minimum of 3+ years' hands‑on experience in watch servicing or an authorised workshop, with demonstrable competence diagnosing and repairing high‑end mechanical movements; experience with chronographs and complex complications preferred.
Education
Watchmaking diploma (WOSTEP, German Uhrmachermeister or equivalent vocational certification) or demonstrable formal apprenticeship in horology.
