Role & Responsibilities
- Assist the DevOps and platform engineering team in building, deploying and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and services.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline creation and optimisation using pipeline tools and version control workflows.
- Support containerisation and orchestration efforts, including development and maintenance of Docker images and Kubernetes deployments.
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code artifacts and automation playbooks for repeatable, auditable environments.
- Help instrument systems for observability — metrics, logging and alerting — and contribute to runbook and incident documentation.
- Collaborate with software engineers, operations and security teams to troubleshoot issues and improve reliability and deployment velocity.
- Document work, produce handover notes and present findings to technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a closely related discipline.
- Practical familiarity with Linux system administration and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Exposure to containerisation and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Awareness of CI/CD concepts and experience with pipeline tooling (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins) and Git workflows.
- Analytical problem-solving skills, attention to detail and effective written and verbal communication in a cross-functional environment.

Experience
Practical experience is expected primarily from academic projects, internships or personal projects that demonstrate applied knowledge of cloud platforms, containerisation, scripting and version control. Prior internship or project work in an operations, SRE or platform-engineering context is advantageous.

Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.
