Watchfinder seeks Development Team Lead in West Malling, UK. Lead agile software teams, mentor developers, and drive technical excellence in luxury watch retail technology.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor software development teams within an agile squad-based structure, providing hands-on technical guidance and coaching
- Partner closely with squad delivery teams to deliver complex projects from conception to production
- Gather and communicate technical requirements with stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional technical teams
- Manage complex technical solutions, balance competing priorities, and deliver results under pressure and tight deadlines
- Apply and promote SOLID principles, object-oriented design patterns, and secure coding best practices across the team
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in development processes, systems architecture, and engineering culture
- Foster knowledge sharing and actively mentor team members to accelerate their professional growth
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a technical leadership or Team Lead role
- 5+ years of professional experience as a software developer
- Strong hands-on expertise with C#, MVC, and RESTful web services
- Demonstrated proficiency in front-end technologies including Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and MVC
- Solid experience with SQL and T-SQL database design and optimization
- Experience with AWS (deployment, messaging, CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices
- Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps or equivalent version control systems
- Understanding of secure coding principles and application security best practices

Experience
5+ years as a software developer with proven experience in technical leadership roles and leading delivery within agile squad-based teams. Strong track record of communicating complex technical solutions to stakeholders and developers, managing complex solutions under pressure, and working effectively to tight deadlines.
