Data Engineer Intern at Cartier Manufacturing, Paris. 6-month internship in digital transformation, GCP, dbt, Airflow.
Role & Responsibilities
- Participate in data collection and ingestion from multiple sources using Airbyte for data integration
- Develop and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, etc.)
- Implement and maintain complex data transformations using dbt (data build tool) for data warehouse modeling and structuring
- Build, deploy, and monitor data workflows orchestrated with Apache Airflow
- Support the implementation and maintenance of data platforms on GCP
- Contribute to continuous improvement of data processes and tools through exploration of emerging technologies
- Document data architectures, flows, and implemented data models
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a program in Computer Science, Data Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent discipline
- Knowledge of relational (SQL) and/or NoSQL databases
- Proficiency in at least one data-oriented programming language (Python strongly preferred)
- Fluency in French and English (written and oral)
Skills
Experience
First or second-year experience with data engineering concepts; prior exposure to Google Cloud Platform, dbt, Apache Airflow, or Airbyte is highly valued but not mandatory. Demonstrated analytical capability, attention to detail, and autonomy in technical problem-solving.
Education
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
