Richemont seeks a Complication Watchmaker in Sydney to assemble and service haute horlogerie movements for its maisons.
Role & Responsibilities
- Assemble, adjust and regulate complex mechanical movements including chronographs, perpetual calendars, tourbillons and minute repeaters to manufacture standards.
- Diagnose, disassemble and repair high‑precision complications; identify root causes and implement corrective actions in line with technical drawings and service protocols.
- Perform final timing, quality control and aesthetic finishing checks to ensure movements meet accuracy, durability and cosmetic standards.
- Document service and repair work accurately in technical records and follow established traceability procedures.
- Maintain and calibrate specialist horological tools and equipment (timing machines, micrometers, polishing benches) and ensure a clean, ESD‑safe bench environment.
- Collaborate with after‑sales, restoration and engineering teams to escalate complex technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement of procedures.
- Train and mentor junior watchmakers and apprentices on complication assembly techniques and quality expectations when required.
- Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety rules, brand confidentiality and bespoke maison standards.
Qualifications
- Formal watchmaking qualification or trade diploma (WOSTEP, SAWTA or equivalent) preferred.
- Demonstrable mastery of mechanical complications: chronograph, calendar mechanisms, tourbillon, minute repeater or equivalent.
- Excellent manual dexterity and visual acuity; accustomed to working under high magnification.
- Ability to read and apply technical drawings, schematics and service manuals.
- Strong commitment to quality, patience and meticulous attention to detail.
- Clear documentation and basic IT literacy for service reporting.

Experience
Proven experience in high‑end mechanical watchmaking with a focus on complications; typically 5+ years working with complex calibres in a manufacture, authorised service centre or haute horlogerie environment.
Education
Watchmaking diploma or equivalent technical qualification (WOSTEP preferred).
