Cartier Foundation bookshop intern position in Paris—retail sales, stock management, and cultural project support.
Role & Responsibilities
- Greet, orient, and advise customers on available publications and merchandise
- Participate in sales transactions and master point-of-sale software procedures and payment security protocols
- Display and promote the Foundation's editorial collections, external publications, and merchandise on shelves and in window displays
- Maintain the retail space to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Assist the stock manager in qualitative and quantitative receipt verification and inventory management software operations
- Support stockroom organization, optimization, and restocking procedures to ensure regular shelf replenishment and prevent stock-outs
- Observe and participate in the book return and cyclical inventory procedures
- Attend publisher presentations alongside library leadership to learn acquisition and order mechanisms
- Provide ad-hoc support to the library director in derivative product development for upcoming exhibitions
- Assist with logistics coordination and promotion of author signings and special bookshop events
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled as a student (Bachelor +3 to Bachelor +5 level)
- Valid internship agreement required
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English
- Strong general knowledge and cultural awareness
- Demonstrated passion for contemporary art, architecture, design, photography, painting, and visual arts
- Excellent personal presentation with a warm and welcoming demeanor
