Van Cleef & Arpels seeks an Assistant Store Manager in Cannes to lead retail operations and team management in luxury high jewelry.
Role & Responsibilities
- Contribute actively to achieving and surpassing revenue, service quality, and client retention objectives in collaboration with the Store Director
- Deliver exceptional client experiences through personalized service aligned with the Maison's standards at every interaction
- Implement client development strategies (clienteling, gifting, client management) and optimize sales support tools and CRM systems
- Handle client disputes with professionalism and discretion; coordinate special orders with rigorous operational follow-up
- Ensure compelling product presentation and impeccable boutique presentation in accordance with Maison guidelines
- Propose and execute local initiatives for Maison visibility in alignment with Store Director strategy
- Assist the Store Director in daily team management, ensuring smooth boutique operations and collective objective achievement
- Coach team members on individual goal attainment; provide constructive performance feedback and proximate mentoring
- Identify training needs and actively contribute to team skill development with strong shopfloor presence
- Foster a positive and stimulating work environment; facilitate team meetings and ensure effective internal communication
- Establish and manage team schedules to optimize coverage and operational efficiency
- Participate in boutique business plan development and propose performance optimization actions
- Analyze key performance indicators and contribute to performance reporting
- Ensure strict compliance with group policies, Maison commercial rules, and all operational procedures (stock management, cash handling, AML, etc.)
- Maintain safety and security of people, assets, and premises
- Monitor and control inventory; organize physical counts per Maison directives
- Supervise cash operations, oversee after-sales service transactions, and assist the Store Director in financial and administrative boutique management
- Manage general boutique facilities and liaise with internal support services (Maison and Group level)
Qualifications
- Demonstrated retail management experience in luxury or prestige sector
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets and client retention
- Strong leadership and team coaching capabilities
- Exceptional client service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Solid understanding of retail operations, inventory management, and financial controls
- Familiarity with CRM and clienteling tools
- Fluency in French and English (written and verbal)
Skills
Experience
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive retail management experience in the luxury, high jewelry, or prestige sector, including demonstrated success in sales leadership, client development, and team management. Prior experience as an Assistant Manager or equivalent supervisory role in a boutique or retail environment is highly valued.
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, retail management, hospitality, or equivalent professional qualification; or equivalent professional experience in luxury retail management.
